The Maker's Atelier Sewing Retreat - 22nd April 2026 - The Blazer

This year The Maker’s Atelier sewing retreat is dedicated to making the perfect lined Blazer. We will be following The Blazer pattern.
Over three days we will cover fit, including shoulder and bust adjustments. As well as demonstrations on all the techniques needed to achieve a professional finish from collar points to buttonholes.
Frances will present the latest trends and fabrics for the seasons ahead and this will be followed by an opportunity to go fabric shopping with Frances and Claire.
Throughout the three days you will be guided through the making process leaving with a finished Blazer, along with the skills and the confidence to make many more in the future.
This will be an intensive but enjoyable three days for you to take your sewing skills to a new level, while socializing with like-minded people. It will be fun!
You will need: Fabric and lining, we suggest linen or medium weight cotton and a lightweight lining. Matching thread and buttons.
The quantities are as follows:
Fabric width
120cm – 2.20m (sizes 4-12) or 2.50m (sizes14-22)150cm - 1.80m (sizes 4-12) or 2.20m (sizes14-22)
Lining width
120cm – 1.70m (sizes 4-12) or 2.20m (sizes14-22)Buttons – 3 for the front fastening and 4 or 6 for the cuffs.

- 3 days expert tuition and guidance from Frances and Claire

What's not included?
- Your accommodation , You can choose to stay at Leonardo Royal Waterfront Hotel and enjoy breakfast and use of the Spa (there will be a discount on room rates)
- Your travel expenses (there will be discounted parking available at the hotel)
- The cost of dinner, eating at the Hotel or offsite is flexible.
- Sewing machines - if travelling from abroad please email, sewing machines will be available to hire
- Bring along your own Sewing Box with tools etc.
Overlockers, irons and ironing boards will be available to use, there will also be interfacings and haberdashery available to purchase. More information will be provided on booking
The cost of The Maker's Atelier Sewing Retreat is £595
There is an option to pay a £150 deposit with the final balance due on 28th February 2026.

Cancellation Policy
Deposits paid are non-refundable and not transferrable.
Please make sure you can definitely attend the event before booking.
If for any reason you cannot make the Sewing Retreat, you may obtain a refund or a transfer less the deposit paid to a different date within 8 months of the original booking, subject to availability. You may also transfer the booking to a different name. Should you wish to cancel your booking, you must notify us in no less than 28 days before the Sewing Retreat date to obtain a refund less the deposit or workshop/name transfer. The deposit will not be transferred.
Any transferred bookings will be charged at the price of the new date selected.
Any cancellations made within less than 28 days of the Sewing Retreat date will not be refundable or transferrable.
We suggest that you consider course cancellation insurance to protect you in case of illness, injury or other unforeseen circumstances
In exceptional circumstances we may have to cancel a Sewing Retreat. If that happens we will give you as much notice as possible and will try to accommodate you on a different date, or refund your fee paid, whichever you prefer. We do not accept liability for travel or other costs.
In the unlikely event that the required number of places remain unsold by 31/1/24 we reserve the right to cancel this retreat.
